• Butenafine hydrochloride is the hydrchloride salt of butenafine, a synthetic benzylamine derivate with fungicidal properties.
• White to off-white crystalline powder.
• It acts by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol by inhibiting squalene epoxylase, an enzyme responsible for the creation of sterols necessary for fungal cell membranes.
