• Levetiracetam is an anticonvulsant drug of the pyrrolidine family.
• White or Almost white crystalline powder.
• It binds to SV2A, a glycoprotein in the synaptic vesicle, and inhibits presynaptic calcium channels, thereby reducing neurotransmitter release and acting as a neuromodulator.
