• Vitamin D3 allows the reinforcement of the immune system and increases the capacity of fixing calcium to maintain a good bone density.
• A clear, colourless to yellow liquid. Pratically insoluble in water, slightly soluble in anhydrous ethanol, miscible with solvents of fats.
• Cholecalciferol is inactive. It is converted to its active form by two hydroxylations: the first in the liver to form 25-hydroxycholecalciferol. The second hydroxylation occurs mainly in the kidney to convert 25-OH vitamin D 3 into 1,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol.
