- Adrenaline or epinephrine is a neurotransmitter and a hormone belonging to the catecholamine family.
- White crystalline substance. freely soluble in hydrochlorid acid and in sodium hydroxide.
- Adrenaline has a vasoconstrictor action through significant alpha-adrenergic stimulation. It combats vasodilatation and excessive vascular permeability responsible for intravascular fluid loss and hypotension, the main pharmacotoxic symptoms of anaphylactic shock.
