• Amoxicillin sodium is the sodium salt form of amoxicillin which is a semi-synthetic broad spectrum aminopenicillin antibiotic with bactericidal activity.
• White or Almost white crystalline powder.
• It binds to and inactivates penicillin-binding proteins located on the inner membrane of the bacterial cell wall. The inactivation of PBPs interferes with the cross-linking of peptidoglycan chains necessary for bacterial cell wall strength and rigidity.
