Anti-inflammatory

• Bethametasone is a glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties.
• White or almost white crystalline powder. Pratically insoluble in water, freely soluble in acetone and in methylene chloride, sparingly soluble in alcohol.
• Synthetic corticoids, including this specialty, are used mainly for their anti-inflammatory effect. In high doses, they decrease the immune response. Their metabolic and sodium retention effect is less than that of hydrocortisone.
