Beta blocking agents

• Betaxolol is a selective beta1 receptor blocker used in the treatment of hypertension and glaucoma.
• White or Almost white crystalline powder.
• It induces a reduction in parietal pressure, an increase in coronary filling time and a reduction in myocardial oxygen consumption. These effects are related to a mild negative inotropic and dromotropic effect.
