Bufexamac is a chemical substance of the amide family and close to acethydroxamic acid.
It acts by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzyme, which makes it a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. In addition, bufexamac has been identified as a specific inhibitor of class IIB histone deacetylases.
