• Carboplatin is a platinum salt, whose action is close to that of cisplatin and of the family of DNA alkylating agents.
• White or very pale yellow crystal powder.
• It binds to the DNA molecule, inducing alkyl bonds. DNA replication is then inhibited leading to preferential cell death of cancer cells.
