• Cisplatin is a platinum-based complex used in the treatment of various cancers such as sarcomas, carcinomas and lymphomas.
• White or very pale yellow crystal powder.
• It is a complex that selectively binds to the purine bases of DNA and induces a variation in the local conformation of the DNA double strand. This distortion inhibits DNA replication and transcription into RNA, thereby inducing cell death.
