• Dasatinib is a multi-inhibitor of type I tyrosine kinase.

• It competes for ATP in the active site of the kinase but does not displace the GFR loop. The 2-chloro-6-methylphenyl group is located in the hydrophobic pocket, the aminothiazole nitrogens establish hydrogen bonds with the amino acids of the protein's halo region.
