• Chlorhexidine digluconate is a broad spectrum antiseptic for human and veterinary use.
• White or almost white microcrystalline powder.
• It is bactericidal at very low concentrations (0.05%) and has a persistent and cumulative effect. Its effectiveness is diminished in the presence of organic matter such as blood or serum.
