• Diclofenac sodium is the sodium salt of diclofenac.
• A white or slightly yellowish, slightly hygroscopic crystalline powder. With particle size less than 10 micron. Sparingly soluble in water, freely soluble in methanol, soluble in ethanol and slightly soluble in acetone.
• It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug derived from phenylacetic acid of the arylcarboxylic acid group.
