• Dienogest is a nortestosterone derivative with no androgenic activity, but rather anti-androgenic activity that is about one-third the activity of cyproterone acetate.
• White or Almost white crystalline powder.
• It binds to the progesterone receptor in the human uterus with only 10% of the relative affinity of progesterone. Despite its low affinity for the progesterone receptor, dienogest has a potent progestational effect.
