• Dofetilide is a class III sulfonamide antiarrhythmic agent and a potassium channel blocker.
• Off-white or yellowish crystalline powder
• It selectively blocks cardiac ion channels of the fast component of the delayed-rectifier potassium current Ikr. This antiarrhythmic agent prolongs the duration of the cardiac action potential and the effective refractory period due to delayed repolarization without affecting conduction velocity.
