• Doripenem is an antibiotic drug in the carbapenem class. It is a beta-lactam antibiotic drug able to kill Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
• White or Almost white crystalline powder.
• It exerts its bactericidal activity by inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial wall. It inactivates several penicillin-binding proteins, resulting in inhibition of cell wall synthesis leading to cell death.
