Anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic products

• Fluocinonide is a potent glucocorticoid used topically as an anti-inflammatory agent.
• White or almost white microcrystalline powder. Pratically insoluble in water, very soluble in ether, slightly soluble in ethanol, methanol and dioxane; sparingly soluble in acetone and chloroform.
• It acts by blocking the action of inflammatory mediators and by inducing anti-inflammatory mediators. Immunosuppressive effects are mediated by suppression of delayed hypersensitivity reactions by direct action on T cells.
