Beta blocking agents

• Bisoprolol fumarate have a beta-blocker activity.
• White or almost white hygroscopic powder. Very soluble in water and freely soluble in methanol.
• It is a beta-blocker with high affinity for beta-1 receptors, without intrinsic sympathomimetic activity or membrane stabilizing effect. It has low affinity for beta-2 receptors in bronchial and vascular smooth muscle and for beta-2 receptors involved in metabolic regulation.
