• Pramoxine is a topical anesthetic.
• White to pratically white, crystalline powder, having a numbing taste, may have a slight aromatic odor.
• It blocks the propagation of action potentials by interacting directly with fast sodium channels. Its site of action is at the intracellular portion of the sodium channels.
