• Letrozol is an aromatase inhibitor.
• White or Almost white crystalline powder.
• It inhibits the aromatase enzyme by competitively binding to the heme moiety of the cytochrome P450-aromatase complex, resulting in a reduction in estrogen biosynthesis in all tissues where this complex is present.
