Methylprednisolone 21 acetate
N° CAS 53-36-1
Corticosteroids for systemic use
- Methylprednisolone acetate is a corticoid of the glucocorticoid family.
- White to off-white crystalline powder.
- Their effects depend on their association with intracellular glucocorticoid receptors and mineralocorticoid receptors. Glucocorticoid receptors are widely distributed, in contrast to mineralocorticoid receptors which have a restricted tissue distribution. By this mechanism, ligand-bound receptors move to the nucleus and modulate gene expression.
