• Methylpredisolone is a corcitcoid of the glucocorticoid family.
• It acts on different inflammatory mechanisms either by inhibiting the production of vasoactive agents, decreasing chemotaxis and the influx of leukocytes and monocytes to the site of inflammation or by decreasing the functions of phagocytic cells.
