• Pentoxifylline is a drug derived from xanthine.
• White or Almost white crystalline powder.
• It is a non-selective competitive inhibitor of PDE4 phosphodiesterase increasing intracellular cAMP and by stimulating PKA activity, inhibits TNF and leukotriene synthesis and reduces inflammation and innate immunity.
