• Losartan potassium is an antihypertensive drug that belongs to the angiotensin II receptor antagonist family.
• White or almost white, crystalline powder, hygroscopic. Freely soluble in water and in methanol, slightly soluble in acetonitrile.
• It's a selective, competitive angiotensin II receptor type 1 antagonist, reducing the end organ responses to angiotensin II.
