Beta blocking agents

• Tamosulin is used as a beta-blocker.
• A white or almost white, crystalline powder. Sparingly soluble in water & in ethanol (95%), very slightly soluble in ethyl acetate.
• It is a post-synaptic alpha1-adrenergic receptor antagonist selective for alpha1A and alpha1D receptor subtypes. These properties result in relaxation of the smooth muscle of the prostate and urethra.
