• Temozolomide is a triazene derivative that is used as an anti-cancer agent.
• Yellow or slightly pale yellow crystalline powder.
• Temozolomide undergoes spontaneous hydrolysis at physiological pH to 3-methyl-(triazen-1-yl)imidazole-4-carboxamide which alkylates guanine in the O and N position, the cytotoxic lesions that are subsequently developed are thought to result in aberrant DNA repair.
