Antithrombotic agents

• Ticlopidine is a molecule of the thienopyridine family.
• A white or almost white, crystalline powder. Sparingly soluble in water & in ethanol (95%), very slightly soluble in ethyl acetate.
• It causes a dose-dependent inhibition of platelet aggregation and the release of certain platelet factors, as well as a prolongation of bleeding time.
