Cardiovascular disease is a disease or injury affecting the heart, the blood vessels supplying the heart, or the network of blood vessels (arteries and veins) throughout the body and within the brain.
Often associated with a beautiful death, or old age, cardiovascular disease is killing people around the world at an ever-increasing rate and in France is the second leading cause of death in men and the first in women.
No age is spared due to the increase in risk factors such as smoking, stress, being overweight or being sedentary.
A stroke results from a problem with the blood supply to the brain. Stroke is a cardiovascular disease.
